The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local Humane Society, c/o the funeral home.

Age 75, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family. Everett was born in Cunard, West Virginia on June 24, 1943, the son of late Everett Mason and Edna (Meadows) Lykins. He moved to Michigan with his family when he was fifteen years old. He was a hard worker who provided and protected his family. When not working he enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Southern Michigan Gun Club where he volunteered as a Range Officer and was a member of the NRA. Above all Houston loved his family and leaves them with the legacy of a life well lived. In 1969 he married his beloved wife, Linda Lykins who survives. He is also survived by two children, Gary Lee (Becky Proevski) Lykins and Jennifer Jean (Eric) Diller; two grandchildren, Whitney (Wesley) Knauf and Domanic (Madison Marek) Lykins; a great-grandson on the way; siblings, Larry Lykins, Carmelita Gilloz; William (Pat) Lykins; several nieces, nephews, friends and his loyal companion dog “Della.” He was also preceded in passing by a sister, Ann Lykins.
