She will be laid to rest privately at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Cathedral, the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, or the Catholic Schools of Greater Kalamazoo, c/o the funeral home.

Age 97, passed away at her home on January 9, 2022. She was born in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Earl and Evangeline Coash. On October 15, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Northrop who preceded her in passing. She was also preceded in passing by a great-grandson, Maddox Isiah Burnham. She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Mary Northrop, Thomas Northrop, Betteanne Burnham, Philip (Robbin) Northrop, Patrick Northrop and Stephen (Karen) Northrop, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; four siblings; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Genevieve believed in the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Augustine Cathedral where she played the organ and piano. She loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories to cherish.
