Genivene (Genny) Marie Hicks, Age 60, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Genny was born in South Haven, on October 11, 1960, to William Schmalfeldt and Geniveve McCabe. Genny was raised by her mother and Jack Hicks, who gave the children his name. Having been raised in South Haven, Genny loved the beach and loved tanning in the warm Michigan summer sun. In her younger days she enjoyed riding horses. Both of her children who survive her, know how much she loved each of them, Harold Shelton, Jr. of Covert, and Ashley (Aaron) Outman- Bohne of Portage. Genny is also survived by grandchildren, Harold Shelton, III, Carson Mecham, Quinton Shelton, Ivan Shelton, Harley Outman, Gracynn Bohne and James Blair Jr;  brothers, Richard Hicks and Brett Hicks both of Bronson, MO; long-time companion, James Abrams; step-children Dominique Abrams, Jessica (James) Blair, and Montey Gibson. Genny was preceded in death by her parents.
