Age 67, passed away at Medilodge of Kalamazoo on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He was born in Kalamazoo on May 10, 1955, the son of the late Donald Roe Sr. and Gloria Bailey. He attended Kalamazoo Central High School and soon after enlisted in the Army. After serving our country he was honorably discharged and returned to make Kalamazoo his home. On November 1, 1986 he married Deborah “Debbi” (Balch) Roe who survives. He was a hard worker and was employed in manufacturing. Though he faced many personal demons throughout his life, he also leaves behind fond memories to cherish. George enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved traveling; making several trips to Las Vegas and one to Hawaii. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and other sports. He did his best to love those around him and his smile and laughter will be missed. George is also survived by his stepson, Steven Terry; siblings, Donald Roe Jr., Sharon Powers, Teresa (Rick) Jackson, Schewanna (Mike) French, Neil Roe, Cathy Weirs, Nancy Gibbs and Frances Roe; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in passing by his siblings, Larry, Diana, Michael and Robert.
