I was a 1988 graduate of Parchment HS and Mr. Macleod was one of those special teachers you remember for a lifetime. He was so interested in making sure we had fun in class and really learned the material. From my time in his biology class I really became interested in science in a way that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in it. I ended up going on to college and graduate school and earn a PhD in neuroscience and spend my career as a professional scientist because of the influence of his biology class at Parchment. Mr. Macleod made a huge difference in my life and of many students. He will never be forgotten and the influence of his life will continue to be felt by the generations of students he dedicated his life to teaching. Goodbye Mr. Macleod.

I slightly knew George, and his brother, David. George was a giant in local Audubon Society group, always willing to bring boxes of books from Audubon library (somewhere in his house!) to each monthly meeting for folks to look over, check out, chat up, and learn about the vast findings of bird life. Always gracious, always approachable, always willing to help in any way. He told me once that for any meeting, he brings only a small portion of the collection, and the four boxes he brought this time would be rotated and we'd see diff books next month. That's work! Thanks, George, RIP, good birder.
