Age 47, passed away at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital on December 8, 2021. He was born in Jackson, MI on September 14, 1974, the son of the late Gerald Ottinger Sr. and Charlene (Good) Stegg. Jay was a kind, loving and generous man. He had a huge heart and would do anything to help a friend. His smile, sense of humor and quick wit were unforgettable and could bring joy to any circumstance. He worked hard as a truck driver for MacAllister Rentals and could always be called for directions and tips to quicker routes. When not working Jay enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with friends. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324. Above all Jay loved his family and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren who called him “PopPop”. He leaves behind many wonderful memories to be cherished. On March 21, 2002 he married Heather (Winters) Ottinger who survives. He is also survived by his children, Zac Ottinger, Austin (Anna) Ottinger, Jayson (Bailey) Ottinger and Destinee Ottinger; grandchildren, Adaline, Kinsley, Bentley, Colton, Lucas, and Jetta Ottinger; his mother, Charlene; siblings, Sheila Agy and Carrie Quintano; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in passing by his father, Gerald Sr.
