Age 88, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016. Jerry was born in East Grand Rapids; the daughter of the late John “Tippy” and Mary Nederveld. She loved to care for her family members, friends and neighbors by sewing, crocheting and baking for them. She also loved to tend to the flowers and garden at her home in the Milwood neighborhood of Kalamazoo where she lived for more than 50 years. Jerry was the oldest of eight children. Her sister, Alice (Roger) Kramer is her only surviving sibling. Her other siblings included: sisters, Doris Bellows and Mary Ruthven and brothers, Roger and Bob Nederveld and Bill and Dave Sweers. Jerry cared for her husband, Henry W., who she married on March 6, 1946 with great love until his passing in May 2005. Jerry was also preceded in death by a step-father, Henry Sweers. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Connie (Ron) Goodwin and nephew, Rick Merritt; as well as many great-nieces and nephews and extended family members.
