A service to commemorate Jerry’s life will be on Monday, August 13 at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Road, Kalamazoo. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church until the time of the service and then again at a reception following the service. Those wishing to make a lasting gift in his name are invited to consider a gift to Hospice of Southwest Michigan, in c/o the funeral home.

Gerard J. (Jerry) Van Spronsen, age 84, crossed the Jordan River to meet face to face his faithful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 27, 2018. Jerry was born in Sunnyvale, CA, on March 15, 1934, the son of Gerard John and Cornelia (Vande Gutche) Van Spronsen. On February 26, 1953, Jerry married the love of his life, Joan Haan who survives him after 65 years of marriage. Besides Joan, he is survived by his children, Carol Ann (Jerry) Hall of South Haven, Jerry (Twila) Van Spronsen of Kalamazoo, Brenda (Steve) Lawrence of Kalamazoo, Linda (Mark) Meulendyk of Kalamazoo, and Mary (Sid Regalla) Van Spronsen of Miamisburg, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Van Valkenburg of Grand Rapids; sisters in law, Joyce Van Spronsen and Marion Van Spronsen. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Napowocki, and two brothers, Cory and Wesley.
