A private family service will take place. Gezella will be laid to rest next to her husband at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan or Texas Corners Bible Church Building Fund.

Age 95, passed away May 18, 2020 in Kalamazoo. Gezella was born in Hudsonville, on June 24, 1924, the daughter of Jacob and Dena (Voss) Arens. On December 12, 1946, she married Garrett Boekeloo, who preceded her in death in 2011. She was a member of Texas Corners Bible Church. She is survived by her children, Lorraine (Paul) Witteveen and Larry A. (Donna) Boekeloo both of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Witteveen, Mark (Crystal) Witteveen, Carrie (Steve) Rynberk, Laurie (Zach) Heridia, and Julie (Dan) VanderRoest; ten great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Amelia, Garrett, Ava, and Jacob Witteveen, and James, Emily, Carly Rynberk, Kevin Heridia and Evelyn Vander Roest; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Harlene Kraker and Joyce Meyer.
