Guna Mara Sensnovis age 86 of Kalamazoo passed away early Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026. Guna was born in Riga, Latvia on December 1, 1939, the daughter of Adolfs and Alise (Sprogis) Andersons. On May 1, 1965, she married Edward (Arijs) Sensnovis, who survives her. Guna and Edward left their beloved Latvia as children, with their parents and came to Ellis Island in New York in 1950, knowing very little English. Guna attended the University of Illinois, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She established her own dental practice in Chicago and was a member of the Chicago Dental Society. She and Edward enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers Beach, FL for many years, She was a member of the Kalamazoo Latvian Lutheran Church where she was active in the ladies group. Besides her husband, Guna is survived by her sons, Andrej Sensnovis and Arnold Sensnovis; and many friends. Guna was preceded in death by her parents.
