Age 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Harold was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 3, 1930, the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Boverhof) Block. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. Harold served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. On January 19, 1951, he married Patricia Ann (Mack) Block, who preceded him in death on August 17, 2021. Harold is survived by his children, Judith (Dave) Johnson, Pamela DeBoer and Jack (Paula) Block; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger and Wayne Block; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by his son, Terry Block; sons in-law, Steve DeBoer and Dirk Schuiteboer; brothers, Marvin and Charles Block and sister, Pearl Brower. Private interment took place at Grand Prairie Cemetery next to Pat. A memorial service to celebrate Harold’s life will be had at Hope Reformed Church at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Reformed Church or a hospice organization of one’s choice.
