Age 84, passed away at Bronson Methodist Hospital on Monday, July 11, 2022. Harriet was born in Sherwood, Michigan on April 5, 1938 to the late Harry and Helen (Ratkowski) Francisco. She spent most of her life in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo area. Harriet had a long career in the hospitality industry, where she worked as a cocktail waitress, bar manager and long-time owner of the Home Bar in Kalamazoo. Harriet made many friends throughout the years and enjoyed socializing with all her “regulars”. She loved animals, especially her chihuahua, Pepper. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bronson and her brother, Robert Francisco. She is survived by two children, Debbie Yoder-Schafer of Florida and David Yoder of Washington; two granddaughters, Jessica (Matthew) Sisson of Michigan and Leesa Goodale of Florida; long-time close friends, Randy Ragina and David Brinkert who she treated as her own sons; and many friends and extended family members. A celebration of Harriet’s life will take place on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the VFW Post 5855, 8845 South Sprinkle Rd., Portage, MI 49002. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan or a charity of one’s choice.
