In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date.

Dear Family of Harriett; We had the pleasure of meeting Harriett at Borgess Gardens. She was in the room next to my dad, Dale Van Patten.(he purchased veggies from Mrs. Bird the past few years). I sat with Harriett a couple times while she was eating. We had a lot to talk about since my husband's family has a cabin in Kaleva. Not far from Mesick. Such a sweet lady. My recollection of childhood was Harriett and Lionel begin a second home on the other side of the fence. We were neighbors during my formative years. She was a great mom to all the kids in the neighborhood. The memories of that time are almost faded but the love still remains. Until we met again. Sincerely, Charles Smith
