Age 75, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Harry was born in Kalamazoo on September 9, 1945, the son of the late Richard and Clara (Glerum) Adler. He was a graduate of Portage High School, class of 1964. Following graduation, Harry enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country honorably until 1968. He worked at the Upjohn Company for 32 years as a pipefitter and after retirement enjoyed doing handyman work for another 17 years. Harry was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything, including cars and anything mechanical. He built his own house in just six months. Harry appreciated living a quiet life with his family and friends and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed target shooting with special cousins, Ken and Deb Glerum. Harry was triumphant in a fight against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 22 years ago but lost a courageous 14-month battle with Large B-cell Lymphoma. On November 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Sandra “Kay” (Morrical) Adler who survives. He is also survived by his children, Scott (Kitty) and David (Shanon) Adler; grandchildren, Mason and Riley Adler, Tiffani (Tocarra) Rose and Brittani and Whittani Schidecker; great-grandson, Ryder Hiemstra; sister in-law, Mary Ellen (Doug) Riggs and brother, Robert Adler. Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his in-laws, Russell and Irene (Dontje) Morrical; grandparents, aunts, uncles and special cousin, Joan (Huntoon) Flickinger.
