Age 66, Harry passed away peacefully on March 29, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital following a short illness. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, sister and aunt. He was born on November 9, 1950 in Tuscola County, MI and resided in many different parts of the state before finally choosing Portage as his permanent home in 1986. Harry resided at ROI Portage Rd group home from 1986 until the time of his death. He was a nature lover and enjoyed spending time outside soaking up the sun. Harry was tenacious and determined-two qualities that served him well throughout his life both at home and at work. He retired from MRC Industries in 2007 and enjoyed spending his retirement at home and also at CDS day program where he worked on a variety of different arts, crafts and most importantly socializing with his longtime friends and staff. Harry enjoyed Tigers baseball and was also a lifetime member of The Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his friend, guardian and advocate Barbara Buchanan and his ROI family including his housemates and staff at Portage Rd.
