Age 54 of Lawrence passed away on June 11, 2025. Heather was born in Kalamazoo on May 11, 1971, the daughter of Thomas and Deborah Schauer (Messer). A Michigan native, she spent two years on Mackinac Island working in a fudge shop. She also enjoyed travelling to other states. In her spare time, she liked going fishing, diamond art and watching her daughter perform competitive cheer. She loved rescuing and caring for animals, particularly cats. Heather also cared for many kids who she called her own. Heather is survived by her daughter Grace Blett; father, Thomas Schauer; siblings, Heidi (Tim) Boles and Steven (Christina) Schauer; several nieces and nephews; foreign exchange students, Lucia and Nora; and countless other friends, including, Patricia (Eric) Byron, Priscilla Mayes, and Cori (Ray) Elsey. Heather was preceded in death by her mother; and her former husband, Ron Blett.
