Age 77, Skip slipped calmly and quietly into the next world on January 19, 2022, after a brief battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.  He was cared for with love and compassion by the staff of Community Living Options/Misty Creek foster care home. He resided in Michigan City before moving to Kalamazoo.  Skip joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17.  He loved his country, his God, his dogs, his family and friends, and ranch dressing.  He worked as a plumber, taking great pride in his work.  Never one to sit still, Skip was a sportsman who enjoyed being outdoors. He leaves behind his daughter, DeAnn Sykes, mother of grandchildren, Connor, Ava and Elle; stepdaughter, Greta Kalinowska, mother of grandchild, Shayne; brothers, Bob (Mary) and Dick Harder; numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend from childhood who he loved like a brother, Ed (Sandy) Kintzele. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill Harder.
