Age 70, passed away at the Laurels of Coldwater on October 6, 2018. He was born in Kalamazoo on February 4, 1948, the son of the late Dolan and Maxine Zabel. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged. He worked for many years at Miller Davis and later as an accountant for the library systems at WMU and retired after 20 years of service.  Jack lived life and had many hobbies. He enjoyed collecting old cowboy memorabilia. He was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Jack also enjoyed traveling taking cruises to the Caribbean and going white water rafting. On February 21, 1981, he married the love of his life Glenda (Buismann) Zabel, of Kalamazoo, MI, who survives.
