Age 84, of Scotts, passed away early Thursday morning, July 18, 2024 Jim was born in South Bend, IN, on May 13, 1940, the son of Charles and Nancy (Toney-DeWispelaere) Coughlin. On June 6, 1959, he married Pat Hughes who preceded him in death in 2020. Jim proudly served his nation in the United States Army. He was an avid golfer. He also like playing Euchre and was pretty competitive about it. After retirement, he and Pat enjoyed wintering in Florida where they had many friends. Jim is survived by his children, Cheri (Marc) Wiese, James “Jim” (Tonya) Coughlin and Mark (Pam) Coughlin; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Michael (Ann) Coughlin; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Besides his wife, Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nancy Jo Benjamin and Carol Drzewiecki; and brother, Daniel Coughlin.
