Age 98, passed away at Centrica Glenn Arbor Place in Battle Creek, Michigan on November 18, 2022. James was born in Gobles, Michigan on November 10, 1924, the son of the late Milton and Sarah (German) Brown. He leaves behind three children, Sharon (Wayne) Garnaat, David (Joyce) Brown and Michael Brown and their families; as well as two sisters, Ella Pettit and Twila Smith; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Shirley; his daughter, Linda; six brothers and four sisters. The family would like to thank the Veterans Assistance Program, Arcadia Home Care, Centrica Care Navigators and the staff at Glenn Arbor Place, and the Crossroads Village family of friends for all of their love, care and support of James. They would also like to extend a special thank you to James’ son in-law, Wayne, for dedicating the last 11 years to being his primary caregiver. Burial with full military honors will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in the spring of 2023.
