A visitation will take place at Southern Heights Christian Reformed Church, 4141 East Hillandale Dr., Kalamazoo, MI 49008, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the church, with Pastor Dan Sarkipato officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Private interment will be in Estherville, Iowa.

Age 85, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016. Janet was born in Estherville, Iowa on February 6, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlton; daughter, Sonja Herbrandson and sister, Annabell Bolty. Janet is survived by her children, Mark, Cynthia, Gregg and Jean Herbrandson and grandchildren, Kristy and Michael Herbrandson.
