Janice (Jan) Kay Zamojski, age 73, of Mattawan, MI, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at Bronson Hospital on November 22, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on August 3, 1952, in Battle Creek, MI, to Lawrence and Ruth (Hilborn) Scobey. Jan attended Kalamazoo Public Schools and graduated from Paw Paw High School.

Jan married the love of her life, Mike Zamojski, on November 2, 1974. They had three children and moved to Mattawan in 1979 to raise their family. Jan was a homemaker and worked various jobs throughout her life, but the one she loved the most was being a mother and grandmother, and she was a fierce protector of her husband and children. Jan liked to crochet in her free time, often crafting blankets as a loving gift to her grandchildren. Some of Jan’s other passions included shopping, thrifting, gardening, and sewing. Jan loved animals and had many cats, dogs, and birds throughout her life. Jan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed and dearly remembered by everyone who knew her.

Jan is survived by three children, Laura LaBonte of Otsego, MI, Mike Zamojski of Tallahassee, FL, and Brian Zamojski of South Bend, IN; sister, Phyllis (Larry) DenHamer of Paw Paw, MI, brother Russell (Wendy) Scobey of Plainwell, MI; sisters-in-law Felicia Bowman of Las Vegas, NV, and Jane Schauer of Concord, NC. She is also survived by grandchildren Katie and David LaBonte, Alexa Zamojski, Alyssa Glynn, and Taylor and Brianna Zamojski; great-granddaughter Azalea, several nieces and nephews, her treasured best friend since middle school Debbie Yates, and her beloved cats Lacey and Raven.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, sister Marleea Lockhart, sister-in-law Linda Scobey, and brother-in-law Stan Zamojski.
