It is with great sadness that the family of Jeanne Mae Craig (Parker) announces her passing on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the age of 69 years. The long-time resident of Union City, Michigan, was born in Pasco, Washington, on November 1, 1948 to William and Jean (Pickering) Parker, both deceased. Jeanne was an Army brat that traveled the world as a child and a wild child of the 60s before settling down to raise a family. In 1984, Jeanne left a promising career with the Walgreens Company in Chicago to raise her three youngest children in idyllic Union City, which she discovered while spending a weekend at The Victorian Villa Inn. Jeanne will forever be remembered by her family and friends as an intelligent, worldly, quick-witted, strong and nurturing woman. She was a loving and fierce supporter of her children and grandchildren and an avid reader, gardener and artist. She was also a constant advocate of the environment and less-fortunate, who volunteered her time tutoring children and donated the little money she had to charities such as Greenpeace and Feed the Children. In March of 2015, she was diagnosed with dementia after undergoing surgery to remove a brain aneurysm. Jeanne fought the illness with courage and grace, always recognizing and presenting her family with a big smile, warm hug and wet kiss when they came to visit her. She died in her daughter Susan’s warm embrace. Jeanne will be forever remembered by her children, Randy Brasker, Susan Prough (Randy), Tommy Allen and David Allen (Kristin), and her brother, William Parker (Diane). Jeanne will also be lovingly remembered by her eleven grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Nicole, Danielle, Heather, Megan, Logan, Rylee, Tristyn, Sophia and Eli, and nieces, nephews and friends.
