Joan E. AcMoody, age 86, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away at her home on April 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 15, 1939, in Burr Oak, MI, the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Davis) Wagner. She moved from Coldwater to Kalamazoo in 1980 where she owned KJ’s Korner Market for several years. After that she operated an in-home daycare, lovingly caring for many children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being at home, doing word puzzles and working outdoors in her yard. Above all, she was proud to be a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived and she will be missed her daughters, Kelli (Brian) Walsh, of Pigeon, MI, Karen AcMoody-Weimer, of Delton, MI, Kristen (Paul) DeBault, of Vicksburg, MI; grandchildren, Jacky (Anthony) Bowers, Benjamin (Michelle) Walsh, Nickolas Walsh, Elaine Weimer, Todd Weimer, Janie DeBault, Carly DeBault, Renee DeBault; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol and Janet; extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by her son Kevin AcMoody and sister Margo, and special friend, James Conklin.
