Sadly, at the age of 76, Joanne Meisling passed away peacefully on December 8, 2022 in her residence at The Gardens of Bronson Place, Kalamazoo MI.  Born in Kalamazoo on June 26, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Wilma (Lemmers) Tassell. Joanne was a joy to know and be around, a loving mother, she was selfless, optimistic, a wonderful listener and always willing to help anyone.  She believed in hard work and retired from the Upjohn Company after many years of service. Then, even in retirement, she started her own company to provide administrative services to local businesses.  When not working, Joanne’s interests varied.  She enjoyed being with her family and pets, shopping, cooking, fishing, knitting and crocheting, as well as scrapbooking.  Her joyful spirit lent itself naturally to the Christmas Season when she enjoyed giving gifts which were always wrapped with extravagance and class. Above all, Joanne loved her family and friends and was especially proud of her daughter, Krysten Veenhuis, whom she leaves behind as a legacy of a life well lived. Joanne was proceeded in death by her loving husband Carl Meisling, her parents, and her brother-in-law, Bill Waits.  She is survived by a sister, Donna Waits, two nieces, Michele (Marty) Zoiss, Vicki (Steve) Bogema, and many dear friends.
