A private family gathering was held and Joel was laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, c/o the funeral home.

Age 94, passed away on November 27, 2021, at his home with family at his side. He was born in Kalamazoo on October 26, 1927, the son of the late Frank and Maude (Schwartz) Tuttle. Joel loved life and lived it to the fullest. After leaving school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served our country until being honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Kalamazoo and began working for National Water Lift/Parker Hannifin; he retired after many years with the company. When not working he loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and being in nature. He was a gifted athlete who played golf and tennis. He also enjoyed traveling. Above all Joel loved his family and his friends and he leaves behind many wonderful memories to be cherished. On May 4, 1948, he married the love of his life, Ramona (Hamlett) Tuttle who survives. He is also survived by two children, Christine Johnson and Jim (Jeannine) Tuttle; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kurt) Swan, Robert (Amy) Johnson Jr., Jason (Teresa) Kiewiet and Jeremy (Brandee) Kiewiet; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a son, Michael Tuttle; a grandson, Joel Michael Fay-Tuttle and many siblings.
