Age 77, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery Thursday morning, August 10, 2023. John was born in Bay City, MI, on September 24, 1946, the son of Fred and Gail (Hemenway) LaLonde. On September 4, 1970, he married Sandra Cogley who survives. John earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwood University in 1972 and proudly served his nation in the United States Army. He owned the local Culligan Bottled Water franchise. John was an exceptional golfer and was a member of the Moors Golf Club for many years. He was devoted to his faith and was a member of Texas Corners Bible Church. Besides his wife, John is survived by his children Anthony (Deb) LaLonde, Matthew (Carol) LaLonde and Christopher (Rachel) LaLonde; grandchildren, Nicolas (Alyssa Zamora, fiancee) LaLonde, Anna LaLonde, John Paul LaLonde, Evan LaLonde, Christopher J. LaLonde II, Cassin Covell, Duncan Covell and Miquelle Covell; siblings, Jane (Michael) O’Farrell and Thomas (Gail) LaLonde; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. John was preceded in death by his parents.
