Debbie, Scott, Lisa, and Bill, I cannot express the profound influence your mom had on me and my life. That extends to your family and of course Grandma Oeschger, and most definitely Deb. Thank you all for allowing me the opportunity to be a small part of your lives. Your mom will be greatly missed by so many, and touched so many lives. I wish you all the peace and warmth that comes from knowing her love. Love to you all. Denice Champlin

My Mom and Dad thought the world of Joyce and Bill, having gone to Kalamazoo Central together and later sung in choirs with each other and well as attended First United Methodist Church. I witnessed her deep love ❤️ for Paul and drew strength from her example of loving acceptance of God’s plans as I raised my own son. Her smile said it all.: beautiful, kind, compassionate and enduring, Joyce lives on in my heart. Peace and grace to Debbie who I went to Portage Northern with and to all Joyce’s loved ones.

So sorry for your loss Lisa and family. I didn't know your mom well but what I do know is she raised an incredible daughter Lisa and someone I will call a lifelong friend. Based on this tribute you have so many of the same qualities and you live on in her memory which i know how proud she must be...Hugs to you!!

We hit the lottery with Bill and Joyce as our neighbors! Joyce filled in many times as surrogate a grandma for us and great grandma for our boys. When Sally was pregnant with Willem, Joyce planned a baby shower at their home with all of the neighbors. After Willem was born, it was not uncommon for Joyce to take him over the piano, place him on her lap, and start playing music for him. As the boys grew, Joyce continued to spoil them with birthday and holiday gifts from Tot to Teen. One of the gifts was a stuffed Dalmatian given to Tycho for his first birthday. Willem took a liking to it and claimed it as his. Our home has seen many of these Dalmatians throughout the years. We always thought of Joyce when it came time to order another one. Joyce was faithful in inviting our family over for dinner regularly. As the years went by, we visited from time to time as she loved to hear about our lives. She will be truly missed. Stuifbergen Family, we will continue to surround you with prayers as you navigate this time. We give thanks that we had Joyce as our neighbor for so many years.
