Age 82, of Comstock, MI, passed away on March 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Juanita was born in Indianapolis, IN, on April 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Albert (Alberta) Groves. Her family would move to Kalamazoo, and she would later make her home in Comstock. Her bubbly personality and charismatic way led to work as a waitress where she made many friends and became well known in the Comstock community. When she was not working, she enjoyed watching game shows, spending time in her flower garden and was in several bowling leagues. She was a gifted baker, and her wedding cakes and homemade candy were sought after by many. Above all Juanita loved her family. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Juanita’s warm smile, laughter and love will be missed by those who knew her. She is survived by her fiancé of many years, Robert Swisher; two children, Tracy King and Mindy (Michael) Sims; grandchildren, Matthew (Alisha) Gibson, Megan Sims, Mikala (Thomas) Shilton; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Brooklyn Gibson with “Baby Gibson” soon arriving; a brother, Lester (Jean) Groves; brothers-in-laws, Michael Meints and Roger Gregg; her beloved grand-puppy “Max”; extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by two sisters, Joyce Gregg and Shirley Meints.
