Age 76, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016. Karen was born in Kalamazoo on March 7, 1940 to the late Peter and Anna (Agema) Smit. She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Tony) Lamson, Laurrie Phillips and Charles Boyd; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (David) Householder, Roger Smit, Phyllis (Richard) Ciganek, Beth (Brian) Doxtator and Cynthia (Steve) Gero and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Boyd and brother, Robert Smit.
