Age 74, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Karen was born in Alton, Illinois on October 15, 1947, the daughter of the late William E. and Lela (Bailey) Edmiston. Karen spent most of her life as a retail merchandiser. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Karen enjoyed shopping and finding great bargains. On August 10, 1968, Karen married Michael J. Boedeker, who survives. She is also survived by two children, Brian L. (Penny) Boedeker and Brooke K. Wilson; five grandchildren, Faith (Jacob) Wallace, Paige Lee Boedeker, Kaitlyn Boedeker, Macy Wilson and Kate Lee Wilson, all of Godfrey, IL; sisters, Patricia Prose of Scottsdale, AZ and Tamara E. (Dave) Nichols of Birmingham, AL; niece, Kelly (Josh) Alexander of Fayetteville, AR and nephew, Spencer William “SW” Nichols of Birmingham, AL. Besides her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brothers, William R. Edmiston and Dennis K. Edmiston. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
