Truly one of a kind and an unforgettable leader in our community. My deepest condolences to his great family. RIP to a wonderful man and caring example for all of us.

Karl gave a wonderful welcoming to my husband and I when we came to St Luke’s after moving to Kalamazoo. We so appreciated that! We attended his 90th birthday party and since it was hours before his birth time he still said he was 89! I’ll always remember his genuine warmth. Sarah Swart

Karl meant a lot to both Linda and me. He was strong mentor to me as District Governor and we had many fond memories of both Karl and Joyce. They traveled with us on a friendship exchange for a two-week trip to Denmark (days) Sweden (2 days) Finland (5 days) and St. Petersburg Russia (4 days). Karl and Linda put the trip together and there were eleven couples who traveled on that trip. It was a trip of a lifetime and we stayed with a couple in Finland who the husband was a Rotarian, and they came back and spent two weeks us. PDG Ed Foster and Linda

I met Karl on the Friendship Village Board and through Rotary. A kind and engaging gentleman. Always enjoyed talking with him and hearing about his adventures. May his memory be a blessing to his family and all who knew him.

I had the pleasure of working with Karl for many years. I fondly recall accompanying him on several trips abroad, teaching the world how to use oleoresins. So many memories. He taught me much. HH
