Kathleen “Kathy” Renee Langstrom passed away late Monday evening, April 12, 2021 following a brief illness. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on March 13, 1960, the daughter of Walter Raymond Haire and Dolores Jeanne Dupree. Kathy graduated from Gull Lake High School in Richland, Michigan and went on to attend GREC and became a Licensed Medical Assistant and devoted herself for many years at Rambling Road Pediatrics in Kalamazoo. She absolutely loved the children she cared for. On September 04, 1984, she married the love of her life, Irvin Joseph Langstrom, and they spent 39 wonderful years together. They were head over heels for each other from the very first time they met. She had a love for gardening and had a green thumb like no other, and nature was her place of peace. Kathy’s friends and family knew her for being a very passionate woman who loved with her whole heart and had a zest for life. She loved rescuing animals and nursed countless animals back to health and well-being. She loved to watch the sunsets on the beach with her life-long love, Irvin in South Haven. Kathy was known to spend time on the dance floor and danced to songs most cannot dance to. Kathy became a strong advocate for social justice and change in the world today. Mostly, she loved her family deeply and was able to use humor to cope with many of the trials life threw at her. Kathy was a well-loved nurse/assistant in the community, many people in our area probably knew Kathy because she was the right hand of many pediatricians in our area. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Haire and her mother-in-law, Laura Marr. She leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, Irvin, her mother, Dolores Dupree, their children, Christie (Chris) Wilson of Kalamazoo, Justin (Sasha Vang-Shonoiki) Langstrom, also of Kalamazoo, her beloved granddaughter, Aya J. Wilson, and her very special “bonus” daughter and kidney donor, Darci VanCamp-Walker. She also had a brother, Michael (Judy) Haire, along with her in-laws, Mary (Gary Jones) Tober, Al (Julie) Langstrom, Ed (Dawn) Marr, Dave (Chris) Langstrom and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
