Cremation will take place and a memorial will be held at a later date with interment at Alamo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to North Park Reformed Church, c/o the funeral home.

Age 84, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2024. She was born in Abilene, TX, on August 18, 1939, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Irene (Jones) Bertrand. At a young age her family migrated to California where she grew up. She would later meet Albert Wielinga when he returned from being stationed as a Marine in Korea. They were united in marriage on December 10, 1955, and moved to Michigan to begin a family. Kay was kind, loving and a had strong faith. She was a loyal member of North Park Reformed Church. She was an avid reader and became highly involved in running the church library. Her smile and warmth will be missed by her church family. She was a hard worker and always stayed busy. She enjoyed traveling and making memories. Above all Kay loved her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to bond with them. Kay will be missed by all who loved and knew her. She is survived by her loving husband Albert Wielinga; three children, Albert Jr., Kenneth (Kim) Wielinga, Mike (Elaine) Wielinga; six grandchildren, Kristin, Kenneth D., April, Heather, Mindi, Laura; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Noah, Ben, Owen, Vincent, Emmit and Kol; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in passing by three brothers and a sister.
