Kay Dee-Ann Jones, age 85, passed away at Laurels of Galesburg, on May 3, 2026, with family at her side. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on December 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert and Birdie (Bullock) Ballett. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, Class of 1958 and would remain a lifelong resident of the area. She met Gordon Jones through a mutual friend, a romance was sparked and on May 13, 1961, they were united in marriage. Kay and Gordon settled and began to raise a family. She worked hard making a home where all were welcome. Her warm smile and joyful spirit made her a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As her family grew, she began working for Consumers Energy and would retire after twenty-five years of service. When not working she enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Europe, Costa Rica, and all over the United States. No place is truly like home though and she was always eager to return to visit with her close friends and neighbors, Kay and Lamarr Miller and Mike and Becky Timpe. Above all, Kay loved her family. She was a proud and involved grandmother who was ever present at sporting events and special moments. Kay’s laughter, love and encouragement will be missed, and she leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. She is survived by her husband Gordon; son, Tim (Jill) Jones; two grandchildren, Ryan (Jenna) Jones and Shawn (Gillian) Jones; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Connor, Allison, Carson and Claire; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a son, Todd Jones; brother, OK Ballett.
