Age 85, passed away on Thursday morning, February 8, 2024, a day before her 86th birthday. Kay was born in Allegan, MI, on February 9, 1938, the daughter of the late Earnest and Pearl (Thomas) Jones. Kay was a kind, compassionate and caring person who was a joy to know. She had several talents and took an interest in a myriad of hobbies. She was very ecologically minded. In her younger years she was part of the “Now” organization and took an interest in the Rose Society. She was hired into the Upjohn Company with only an eighth-grade education. She excelled at work and showed a keen mind. This led to an opportunity to attend Western Michigan University where she graduated with honors. She loved learning so much that she went on to get several other Associate degrees. Kay was artistic and creative, she learned to play piano and was an exceptional artist and painter. She also enjoyed playing cryptograms. She was graceful and taught ballroom dance for the Arthur Murry Dance Studio, which is where she would meet her husband, Edgar Taylor. In her later years she enjoyed spending time at home working in her beautiful garden. Kay also loved horses, was passionate about anything horse related, and never missed an opportunity to see her granddaughters horse shows. She also had a sharp business mind, and was a property owner and manager. Even though she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis almost 60 years ago, it never slowed her down. Above all, Kay loved her family and her friends. Her smile, laughter and loving nature will be missed, and she leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. She is survived by two loving daughters, Wendy Pedrolini and Meghan Taylor; grandchildren, Anthony Pedrolini, Kori Pedrolini-Monaweck, Anzio Pedrolini, Kaydee Froberg and Dustin Taylor-Hall; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by her former husband and best friend, Edgar; siblings, David Jones, Sharon Osteen, Audrey Baldwin and Neysa Imus; nephew Anthony Pedrolini.
