Age 53. Ken passed away at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo on Saturday evening January 6, 2018.  It’s obvious that Ken did things his way.  On July 17th, 1964 he entered the world bass ackwards, making his mom suffer for 54 hours in active labor!  Ken was a beautiful baby boy with dark hair and brown eyes.  As a young boy, Kenny love to tear things apart.  Generally, these things were impossible to put back together!  He loved helping his mom around the house. One instance occurred early in the morning around 4 AM.   Ken decided to get up and saw that the sugar bowl was empty decided to help his mom by filling that sugar bowl.  Unfortunately, he grabbed the salt.  He thought he had done such a good deed and was so proud of himself. Well, his mom Charlotte, made the coffee and breakfast.  Ken’s dad, Lee grabbed a cup of coffee, the creamer and the sugar and put a BIG O heaping spoon of that sugar into his cup of coffee, and took a big gulp, only to spit it all over the table!  As life went by, it wasn’t long before Kenny figured out how to put together all those things that he had torn apart, and became quite the jack of all trades.  There was a lot of trial and error along the way, but he succeeded in all that he had done.  Ken was a big outdoor enthusiast, his love of fishing started at an early age, fishing with his family at Spring Valley lake, usually after playing in manure during a long day of gardening. He also was a hell of a cook and grill-master.  Ken was married to Julie Ann Bergstresser on October 20, 2012, and she survives to cherish his memory, along with her children, Kari and Elena and their children, Isaac, Maredith and Jack.  He is also survived by his mother, Charlotte Barinka, sister, Amanda (Matthew) Timbs and Aunt Becky (Michael) Solze, and several other aunts and uncles, as well as his daughters, Megan and Corey.  Other members of his family include his nephews, Joshua, Bradley, Nicholas, niece Charley and his brother in law Glen Ramsey.  He also leaves his half siblings, Billy, Katrina and Shane.   He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Kimberly Ramsey.
