Kenneth M. Irish, Jr.

July 14, 1935 - March 30, 2024

Colonel Irish will receive a military full honors burial at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington Virginia. Date of service to be determined and posted at a later date. We will welcome the gathering of friends and family at a memorial which will be in Virginia in conjunction with his burial. No local memorial is planned. Ken remained a solid supporter of veterans charities, in particular the Gary Sinise Foundation. Additional support went to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in memory of his wife Margaret. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to these groups.

Sincerest condolences to Ken's family. Though I did not know him well, I had the great privilege of meeting him on several family gatherings in Kalamazoo. Clearly he was an accomplished human being, not just professionally but as evidenced by his greatest legacy, his adoring family. When such a dear soul passes from this life it is with mixed emotions, sadness for our loss of course but also great gladness that our lives intersected for a time. It is my most fervent wish that happy memories overwhelm your grief and that you may find some comfort in knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of people who love you.
