Age 59, passed away May 20, 2020. Ken was born in Kalamazoo, on August 4, 1960, the son of Stanley and Genevieve (Howing) Brussee. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian Schools. Ken was a jack of all trades and very handy. This led to his work as a custom window and door fabricator. When not working, he was an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ken’s favorite place to spend time and where he was most at peace was Beaver Island. His memories of the island go back to his childhood when he started traveling there. His children and grandchildren were especially important to him and they will always treasure the memories they made together. More than anything, he loved the Lord in all the circumstances in which he found himself. Even through difficult trials he remembered God’s promise, “Nothing that you do or don’t do can separate you from My Presence.” Ken’s smile, laughter and love will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Scott) Vlietstra, Benjamin (Meghan Kline) Brussee, and Kristen (Ben) Klooster; grandchildren, Owen and Evelynn Vlietstra, Reese, Quinn and Ellie Klooster; his mother, Genevieve Brussee; siblings, Barbara (Ronald) Wells, Robert (Lynda) Brussee, and David (Patricia) Brussee; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Ken was preceded in death by his father.
