A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the East Main Church of Christ located in the Kalamazoo Youth for Christ City Life Center, 2528 East Main St., Kalamazoo, MI 49048. Covid-19 mask protocols will be followed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund.

Age 58, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Kim was born in Freeport, Illinois on January 15, 1964, the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Jilann E. (Matous) McCray. Kim loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life honoring Him; by serving others in her church and community. She was passionate about her faith, family and friends. Kim was the epitome of someone who treated others with kindness and respect; always putting others first and treating others like she would want to be treated. Kim was a teacher for 32 years at Woods Lake Elementary: A Magnet Center for the Arts in the Kalamazoo Public Schools. Teaching was more than a job for her. It was a passion. She loved every student like they were her own and the dedication she had for teaching them was phenomenal. Kim will be remembered for her kindness, love, and devotion to her God, her family, friends and students. She is survived by her husband, Shannon Berry; son, Demetrius Berry; brother, Troy McCray and several close friends.
