Age 71, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2022. Kolleen was born in South Bend, IN, on November 4, 1950, the daughter of Kenneth Robert and Juanita (Landis) Hurley. As an 18-year old, Kolleen was orphaned when her mother tragically died in an automobile accident and she helped her dad raise her younger brothers and sisters. Kolleen was a long-time day-care provider and she loved children. She treasured her Native American heritage and enjoyed going to Pow-wows She was an avid Notre Dame fan. More than anything, Kolleen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Kolleen is survived by her life-time companion, Donald Luce of Kalamazoo; her daughter, Wanita “Wendi” (Tracy) Chamness of Palm Coast, FL; Don’s daughter, Christina Luce of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Kevin Chamness, Kyle Chamness, Hannah Chamness, David Landaw and William Landaw; Don’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were like her own to her; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Landaw; brothers, Rory Hurley and Timothy Hurley; sisters, Ronda Engstrom, Margie (Joe) Nemeth, Nancy (Donald) Sparks; several nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William David “Billy” Landaw II; brother, Buddy Hurley; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Al Otterstetter; Don’s son, Donald Luce II; Don’s daughter, Michelle Luce.
