Larry Jack Warner Sr. passed away November 12, 2022, at Borgess Hospital with family by his side. Larry was born on June 15, 1951, to Jack and Nancy (Wells) Warner. Larry married the love of his life, Rekia (Rice) Warner on August 16, 1977, after the longest first date in history. Larry was a hard worker, there wasn’t a job that he couldn’t take on, hiring a handyman just wasn’t in his vocabulary. In his younger years Larry absolutely loved to drag us on scenic drives on the countryside then later in life alone on his motorcycle. Growing up on a lake, Larry absolutely loved to fish, and did it whenever he had the chance. For many years, Larry was an avid bicyclist. It wasn’t unusual for him to ride 20 miles a day. Rides to South Haven was a common thing for him as well as an attempted ride to the Mackinac Bridge. Larry retired from Checker Motors after working there for 33 years to take care of his wife Rekia, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Larry is survived by his siblings, Sally (Dwain) Hanson, Susan (John) Axe. Children: Douglas Warner, Cathy Warner, Danielle (John) VanOosterum, Larry (Bobbie Jo) Warner, Shannon (Warner) Fain, and Alice Warner. Grandchildren: Carina (Chris) Miller, Colt Warner, Christian Jackson, Gavin Warner, Jazmyn Warner, Darcy Warner, Madyson Warner, Carson VanOosterum, and Jaxson Warner. Great Grandchildren, Christopher Miller Jr., and Oliver Miller. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Rekia (Rice) Warner, his mother, Nancy (Wells) Warner, sister, Judy Warner, father, Jack Warner, and grandson, Austin Jackson.
