Age 63, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was born in Kalamazoo on April 6, 1959, the son of Clair and Corliss (Hartford) Belland. Leroy was kind, considerate and thoughtful. He had a gentle spirit, loved to spend time in nature and was a joy to know. He graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School, class of 1977. His passion for nature would lead him to work in the landscape industry. He spent several years traveling the country planting trees and improving the land. He would eventually return to make Southwest Michigan his home. He loved gardening and enjoyed sharing his harvest with others. He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed using produce from his garden when preparing meals. Leroy also enjoyed taking bike rides and walks. He had a gentle heart, loved animals and was particularly fond of cats. Leroy loved his family and his friends, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving mother, Corliss; three daughters, Sky, Jessamine and Tara Belland; two sisters, Judy Belland and Connie Hart; two nephews, several cousins and other family. He was preceded in passing by his father, Clair Belland and brother, Clayton Belland.
