Age 63, Lisa Burge passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at her home in Kalamazoo, Michigan after a two-year battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Lisa is survived by her husband, Brian; son, Taylor; sisters, Robin and Mindy; and her two beloved Westies, Chloe and Missy. Lisa grew up in Niles, Michigan and resided in Kalamazoo after graduating from Western Michigan University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She owned and operated a successful preschool daycare for 28 years. Lisa positively impacted a generation of her students and families, some of which remain in her life to this day. She was fun loving, had a great sense of humor and was tenacious in her pursuit of building her own business; a dream she had since she was young. Lisa lit up the room when she entered it and brought smiles to all who knew her. She was never afraid to speak her mind. Lisa loved Lake Michigan and was able to enjoy her lifelong dream of having a boat with her husband, Brian, for the last ten years. After the daycare closed, Lisa enjoyed crafting with Lake Michigan driftwood. Information about a celebration of Lisa’s life will be announced at a later date.
