A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, beginning at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 212 Park St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with Rev. Steve Charnley officiating. A visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.

Age 83, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2016. She was born on July 28, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Fay B. and Marcella P. Morgan. Lois attended Neenah High School in Neenah, WI and later received a degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In 1955 she married Ronald D. Miles. The family moved frequently, living in Madison, Tulsa, Seattle, and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They moved to Kalamazoo in 1969. In 1978 Lois received a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at Western Michigan University. She later moved to Kingsport, TN and then to Seoul, South Korea, where she taught Occupational Therapy and English at Yonseii University, sponsored by the United Methodist Church. She retired in 1995 and returned to Kalamazoo where she remained active within the First United Methodist Church and also volunteered with the American Red Cross, Loaves and Fishes, and Lending Hands. Lois is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Renee) Miles, Dan (Pyong Ye) Miles; daughters, Sue (Phil) Mains and Debbie Miles; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; siblings, Ann Werhane and Tim (Pat) Morgan. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, beginning at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 212 Park St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with Rev. Steve Charnley officiating. A visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to FUMC (Adult Missions Fund) or the American Red Cross, c/o of the funeral home.
