Age 92, passed away on Saturday evening, April 17, 2021, following a lengthy dementia illness. Lucille was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 5, 1928, the beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Beulah (Morris) Taylor. After she graduated from high school, Lucille met a young man named Merle, and they wed on November 05, 1949, most recently celebrating 71 years of holy matrimony. Lucille was known for her love of children, having owned and operated a day care facility out of her home for 14 years. She loved taking the little ones on walks in the park. She had a very natural ability to love others and do God’s work, making an indelible mark with everyone she met. She and Merle were the type of couple who spent their time loving and helping others, especially when they needed extra special care. As a woman of God, Lucille walked the path that the Lord had made for her, never looking back and always looking forward to the day she could be in glory. She was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, Ralph “Babe” Taylor, Jr., Gene Taylor, Louis Taylor, Robert Taylor, and her one sister, Eleanor Taylor. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Merle Hamblin, their sons, Merle “Skip” Hamblin, Jr., and Chris (Elizabeth “Libby”) Hamblin, along with ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
