Age 89, passed away at Rose Arbor Place on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. She was born in Chambersburg, PA, on May 1, 1934, the daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (McMichael) Kriechbaum. Lucy was loving and reserved. In August of 1957, she married the love of her life Dr. Donald Sellin who preceded her in passing in 2016. She received her B.A. from Frostburg State Teachers College and worked as a teacher until becoming a mother; she later worked at Steketee’s in Kalamazoo. She was a staunch Lutheran and Democrat and was always up on current affairs. She enjoyed taking trips to Lake Michigan, and camping with her family there. She had a strong faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for more than fifty years. She had a lifetime love for cats and always had one or several. Above all Lucy loved her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. She is survived by four children, Elizabeth Sellin, Francis ‘Mike’ Sellin, John (Julie) Sellin, Andrew (Grace) Sellin; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a son, Philip Sellin in 1989, and many siblings.
