Olivet Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Maeletta will be laid to rest with Keith at Harrison Cemetery, Prairie Ronde Twp. in a private burial at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 88, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. Maeletta was born in Kalamazoo, on November 22, 1935 to the late Deo and Rosella (Buell) Stickley. On May 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to the late Keith D. Savacool Sr. Maeletta was a stay-at-home mom whose love of children called her to have a daycare in her home for over 40 years. She cared for many children, family members, friends and pets over the years, while also volunteering with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and at her children’s schools. She loved flowers and flower-arranging, sewing, and crafts. Throughout their 62 years together, she and Keith enjoyed square dancing, camping, bowling, playing bingo, travel, and spending time with their family and friends. Maeletta is survived by her children, Bonnie (Zale) Carpenter, Debbie (Martin) Gantzer, Tony (Pam) Savacool, Duane Savacool; son-in-law, Greg Kolich; grandchildren, Daniel Britton, Kaila (Dariel) Garcia, Chad (Allison) Laning, Taylor (Dylan) Lawrence, Alexander Savacool, and Andrew (Nicole Waldvogel) Gantzer; great grandchildren, Jack & Kohen Lawrence and Luke & Ella Laning; sisters, Marlene Sanford and Norma Pavlick; sisters-in-law, Helen Altoft and Wilma Frost; many nieces, nephews and friends. Maeletta was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Linda Marie Kolich; son, Wayne Savacool; grandson, Scott Savacool; five brothers, Robert, Ronald, Raymond, William and Richard Stickley; and one sister, Carol Hyde.
