Margaret June Slade, age 101, passed away at her home on April 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Watersmet, Michigan on June 7, 1924, the daughter of George and Margaret (Bier) Buchmiller. Margaret was kind, loving and lived her life to the fullest. She was a joy to know and during her centennial on earth she made wonderful memories. On April 7, 1947, she married the love of her life, Howard Slade who preceded her in passing on July 15, 2016. Together they raised four children, and with joy supported the growth of their grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Margaret was a hard worker, like many others she stepped into the factories during the war and then returned home to focus on her family; she later helped at the school library. Margaret enjoyed staying active and was a woman of many hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking, camping, riding her bike, reading books, ice skating and swimming; all joys she passed down to her family. Margaret had a strong faith in the lord and attended the methodist church. Margaret’s legacy will be remembered and her quiet passing honored by those she loved. She is survived by three children, Bette (Pete) Inzano, Edward (Mary) Slade and Jack (Pam) Slade; daughter-in-law, Linda Slade; grandchildren, Brian, Michelle, Pam, Paul, Robert, Mike and Matt; twelve great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Slade and Janis Snell; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a son, Jim Slade; granddaughter, Crystal Slade.
