Age 71, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. Marie was born in Chicago, IL, on December 17, 1951, the daughter of Jacob and Sophie (Huisenga) Schenkel Jr. Marie attended Elim Christian School in Palos Hgts., IL. Marie had confessed Jesus as her Savior at the Oak Lawn Christian Reformed Church and was a member of the former Paw Paw Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed hooking rugs and coloring books. Marie was loved by everyone who knew her and she had a very special affection for her nieces and nephews. Marie is survived by her siblings, Henry (Ann) Schenkel, Kathy Onderlinde, and Jake (Sunny) Schenkel; twelve nieces and nephews; twenty-two great-nieces and nephews; and many friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Robert Onderlinde.
